ISLAMABAD: Asking its workers in Sindh to get ready for a rally in Larkana, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Sunday announced it would give a charter of demands to government in its November 30 rally in Islamabad
“We will give the government our charter of demands on November 30,” said the PTI Chairman Imran Khan to his supporters at the sit-in at Constitution Avenue.
The party had earlier given a set of demands and had over a dozen sessions of talks with the government. However, dialogue between the two sides had reached a stalemate due to PTI’s unchanging demand for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s resignation.
“The November 30 rally will be the biggest ever political gathering in the federal capital,” he claimed. Imran warned the government against any attempt to block ways to stop the PTI workers from reaching Islamabad. He said there would be more rallies in Punjab during the month.
Addressing himself to the people of Larkana, he said: “Get ready. We are coming to free you from the shackles.”
Talking about the prices of petroleum products, the PTI chief renewed his demand that the government must further reduce the prices as well as electricity tariff by November 30.
The PTI chairman did not miss the opportunity to censure government’s decisions, particularly regarding high level appointments.
He cited the case of the appointment of Khawaja Naeem – a relative of Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif – as head of National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) and called it an example of nepotism.
“The Sharif family has not changed its style of governance and the entire family is enjoying powerful positions in the government,” he said.
He claimed that in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), where PTI is in power, merit is the only criterion for appointments. “The provincial government has appointed a new National Accountability Bureau (NAB) head and will hold accountable all corrupt people,” he said.
Earlier, the PTI chief condemned the suicide blast at Wagha border in which over 50 people lost their lives and scores suffered injuries.
